Fans have been eagerly awaiting another installment in the series, and creator American McGee himself seems ready to take the leap back into the disturbing world of Wonderland after recently posting a narrative outline and pitch package for Alice: Asylum on his Patreon. It's been a long time since a new Alice game has come out, with Alice: Madness Returns releasing 10 years ago in 2011. Alice is summoned back to Wonderland by the White Rabbit to help save the mystical place, as the fantasy land has grown dark and disfigured to reflect Alice's dark mental state. Inspired by the Lewis Carroll novels Alice's Adventures In Wonderland and Through The Looking-Glass, the games take a more demented and gloomy approach to the source material by having Alice's family die in a house fire after she returns from Wonderland, placing the young girl in a psychiatric facility.
